Coming soon: RNX-OSM-CARRIER v2.0 – OSM Carrier Board with LGA662 Socket

Ronetix, a developer and manufacturer of high-performance System on Modules (SoM), announces the upcoming RNX-OSM-CARRIER v2.0 – the new revision of its carrier board for SoMs in the Open Standard Module™ (OSM) v1.2 form factor, Size S, M and L, designed for development and mass production test.

The biggest change is the LGA662 socket, which replaces the four DF40C connectors and the RNX-OSM-ADAPTER board of the previous revision. The OSM module is clamped by the rotating lid of the socket and can be exchanged within seconds – without soldering. This speeds up both the development with different OSM modules and the mass production test.

Designed for development and mass production test

For the mass production test of OSM modules, the RNX-OSM-CARRIER v2.0 offers loopback testing: on the 2.54 mm pin headers, complementary signals such as TX/RX, SDO/SDI and GPIO pairs are placed on neighbouring pins, so UART, SPI, GPIO, CAN and ADC signals can be verified with simple loopback jumpers. The USB debug console is powered from the USB cable, so the test log is captured from the very first boot message. The high-speed interfaces are tested with standard peripherals – Ethernet, USB memory sticks, microSD card, M.2 Wi-Fi card, displays and cameras.
